Decorating Projects

University of Edinburgh - Edinburgh

Another project in the capital of Scotland, the University of Edinburgh (UEO) commissioned Spectrum with the decoration of their new state of the art medical research facilities with the aim to complete all works for their grand opening. As a new building this project demanded a heightened scale of planning due to the variety of specific requirements involved and with those requirements in mind, our team got to work on outlaying a comprehensive decorating plan to be implemented and carried out over the course of 4 months.

Our experience in other medical facilities in the past allowed us to get a head start on this project by identifying a clean, white theme as the most suitable colour scheme to use throughout the building’s main foyer and hallways. Doing so allowed us to promote their high regard for sanitation and more importantly, the colour scheme used also complemented the LED lighting features seen throughout the upper foyer area, allowing the red/pink hue to take a gradient effect up the walls in stunning fashion.

Further to our work throughout the main entrance and hallways, our project at UOE also seen us decorate their theatre/lecture room with a colour scheme that visually narrowed the focal point of the room to the centre stage. We done so by using a shade of slate grey on the walls while finishing the artistic wall features with a premium white to help them really pop off the walls, with the combination of both resulting in a more focused, comfortable environment.
